Yedai Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts (Yedai IRCA)
The Yedai IRCA (Yedai Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts) is one of the major projects among others conducted under the organisation ‘Yash Medical Foundation’ since its inception. The center is located with natural surroundings on the Yermal-Barshi road at about 2 KM distance from the main town, Yermala. The purpose of center establishment is to tackle the addiction issues at the community level along with providing scientific medical treatments as well as psycho-social rehabilitation services seeking absolute recovery of affected individuals The center has established faith for its services in the localities which is helping affected people living drug free life. Following are four major components under of which concrete and meaningful services are provided
Awareness & Education Programmes
The following programmes ware planned and implemented to generate awareness at various levels to awaken local communities regarding psycho-social ill-effects of alcoholism and addiction to drug substances.

TREATMENT
Yedai Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts is well appreciated project among others of organisation Yash Medical Foundation. The center is located in nature friendly surroundings on Yermala-Barshi Road at about 2 KM distance from the main town Yermala. The center is approved under ‘Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance (Drugs) Abuse’ scheme.
launched by Central Government, India. The working team of the center comprises well qualified and experienced medical practitioners, counselors, social workers, nurses, ward attendants, yoga teachers, peer educators and other administrative staff. The professionals working for the center have developed fluent capabilities to maintain required documents pertaining to the execution of the center activities as per minimum standards laid down by the ministry.
Major components concentrated during treatment:-
- Detoxification-scientific medical treatment for de-addiction
- Group counseling including counseling for individual and family members
- Individual self-experience sharing and space for creativity
- Referral to civil hospitals, NGOs, Alcoholic Anonymous meetings etc
- Games and reading for entertainment and knowledge improvement
- Monthly medical checkup and treatment for the duration of about six months
- Quarterly one day residential medical checkup cum interaction camp
- Assistance for rehabilitation at family, community, work place levels

REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation of recovered addicts is another aspect of de-addiction treatment for which various services and assistance is made available at the center. The center provides all the possible support and assistance for rehabilitation of the recovered addicts. The addicts availed de-addiction treatment directly, indirectly are frequently contacted and observed for physical, social and economical progress among them. During treatment period of six month the patients under treatment are regularly called upon in the center on every monthly for counseling, medical checkup and supply of treatment doses. The following measures are taken at the center level for rehabilitation and sustaining the sobriety of recovered addicts.

Research
RESEARCH - CLINICAL TRIALS OF ‘YOGA’ AS TREATMENT FORM FOR ALCOHOLISM
- The addicts admitted in the center are provided with ‘Yoga’ therapies every day in the morning as a routine treatment part alongside other treatments. The person undergone of training and having quite well experience in the field conduct Yoga sessions regularly and look after the progress thereon
- Always the new forms and exercises are applied and tested in the sessions held in consultation with experts and the research team working on the subject to ensure the positive impacts.
- The research wing has been noted the encouraging outcomes of providing Yoga inputs to the addicts during their treatment for de-addiction. The different forms applied acts to bring stabilities in the mind sets, physical as well as psychological behaviors and establish controls on overall nervous systems.
- As found useful, it is seen most of the addicts after discharge have made it a routine part of their addiction free life. The wing is making attempts to study the subject in depth and incorporate various new forms and observe its usefulness
